Outriders Major Free Update 'New Horizon' Arrives Tomorrow With New Expeditions, Transmog System, and More

Square Enix and developer People Can Fly have announced a major free update for Outriders, titled ‘New Horizon’. Due to drop tomorrow, the update adds four new Expeditions, the removal of timers for Expeditions, a new Transmog system, new weapon skins, rebalanced Classes, Skills, Mods, and more.

Tiagos Expedition store and his vendor items will receive an overhaul, while a host of general improvements and updates are also coming to the game as part of the update, which has apparently been months in the making. Furthermore, People Can Fly also released a teaser for ‘Outriders Worldslayer’, an expansion scheduled for release in 2022, with a full reveal slated for spring.

“We’ve been hard at work improving the Outriders experience and with the free New Horizon update we’ve improved and addressed the majority of player feedback ahead of our major 2022 expansion – Worldslayer,” said Square Enix External Studios Co-Head, Jon Brooke. ”So there’s no better time than now to start, restart or continue your journey through Enoch in what is now the ultimate version of Outriders."

Outriders is available for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC.

  • Hopefully they add achievements with the expansion, one of my favourite recent-ish games
  • I thought they said there wouldn't be any DLC for this game? Not a complaint, just what I recall. Might have been thinking of another game?
  • @Dirty: I think their claim was that it's not a "live service" game. Don't think they ever said they wouldn't add more content though.
  • Ah, right on. Cheers.

The new expeditions were a nice refresher of the game. Still fun to play, although I probably should have adjusted my build before playing them.
