Maneater, the action-RPG where you play as a shark, is getting a free ray tracing update today on Xbox Series X.

The update arrives as developer Tripwire Interactive has announced that Maneater has now passed over 5 million players worldwide. The ray tracing update attempts to bring the game's digital representation of the Gulf Coast to life, enhancing the realism with real-time reflections of the surface of the water, and realistic refractions when looking up at the surface from down below.

On top of that, today's update also comes with multiple quality-of-life improvements and optimisations across Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

Maneater is available now on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC. You can check out some screenshots from the new ray tracing update down below.
