Rockstar Games has announced that the physical release of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition has been delayed across all platforms.

For players on Xbox and PlayStation, that means that the game's physical release has been pushed back until 17th December 2021. The game was originally due to launch in stores on 7th December, so its a short ten-day delay, but still slightly unexpected considering we're just a week away from that original date.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition has been plagued with issues since launch - we described it as a “messy remaster” in our review - but developer Grove Street Games is attempting to fix the games, with the latest update adding fog back into San Andreas and fixing some of the more glaring bugs.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition will now launch physically on Xbox and PlayStation on 17th December 2021, before coming to Nintendo Switch in 2022.

  • According to Amazon it releases on the 27th
  • Should’ve stuck them all on Game Pass. Butchered classics.
  • Still enjoying 100%ing Vice City. As someone who did that about 15 years ago, it's fun to experience it again.....
But I'm afraid to play GTA3 and San Andreas due to all the bad press.
  • I've been playing GTA SA and only had one problematic mission. Otherwise, it's been a pretty good experience.
  • Delaying it in the hope the shit storm passes lol.
