Publisher Assemble Entertainment has announced that atmospheric sci-fi noir adventure, Lacuna, will be coming to consoles later this month. A “melancholy yet intensely gripping mystery”, developer DigiTales Interactive's game has you playing as veteran Central Department of Investigation Neil Conrad, on the trail of a heinous murder.
Of course, the incident is more than it first seems, and it'll fall to Conrad to uncover the truth. Launched for PC earlier this year to critical acclaim, Lacuna's narrative is told via retro-style 2D pixel art, with a “dulcet, captivating” soundtrack. During Conrad's case, you'll have decisions to make with pivotal outcomes, revealing a plot that will turn his world upside down.
Rather than revolving around the “pixel hunting” mechanics of classic point-and-click games, Lacuna does away with any intrusive systems that could interrupt the flow, with conversational choices, narrative-based puzzles, interactive extras, and different endings to uncover, in an immersive detective saga. Find out more in the trailer below.
Lacuna - A Sci-Fi Noir Adventure will be coming to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4 on 21st December, priced $19.99/£15.99/€19.99, before coming to Nintendo Switch on 28th December.
