Koei Tecmo and Omega Force have released a new trailer for Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires, offering up the first details on scenarios, through which you'll be able to rewrite history. Previously set for a 2021 release, DW9 Empires was delayed in March, then given a new February 2022 launch date in October.
Adding tactical elements to its classic ‘1 vs 1,000’ hack and slash action, Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires will feature a “robust” political system to meander your way through, as you strive to conquer Ancient China, as well as the aforementioned scenarios that whisk you away to different time periods.
Via said scenarios, you'll be able to relive historic moments like the Yellow Turban Rebellion and the Battle of Chibi, then rewrite how the events of each unfolded. You could unify China with all officers from Wu still alive, for instance, or spark a rebellion to take over the map. One of six titles can be earned, based on your reputation.
Relationships with officers can be deepened based on your rep and title, with the ability to even marry them and have a child, who can grow up to be come an officer themselves. You can then play through Conquest mode again as your offspring, if you like. You can find out loads more in the new trailer below.
Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires will be heading to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC on 15th February 2022, with a demo set to arrive ahead of launch, in which you can transfer across any edited officer data to the full game. A 20th Anniversary Edition of the game will also be available, with artbook, 94 characters cards with a display stand, and soundtrack stuffed into a collector's box.
