Halo Infinite Campaign Missions Can't Be Replayed, Launch Day Timings Confirmed

Tomorrow will see Halo Infinite's campaign launching, and you may be interested to know that once you've completed a campaign mission, you won't be able to replay it. The only way to revisit a campaign mission will be to start from scratch with a new save file - this means you'll need to keep a keen eye out for collectibles, otherwise they're easily missed.

Halo Infinite opens with two missions off Zeta Halo, before the game opens up and enables you to freely explore, and unfortunately, there's no way to return to these missions on the same save slot. Within the open world, meanwhile, you'll be able to return to previously visited areas and gather up missing collectibles.

“The postgame does give you the option to keep exploring the wider environment, but for missions like the first two, where you’re not on the ring yet, you can’t replay from the same save file," a Microsoft representative confirmed to Polygon (via VGC). “You’d be able to get any remaining FOBs, targets, [and] audio logs, but the main story missions would not repeat.”

You needn't worry about losing any skulls you've unlocked upon starting a new save file if you have missed collectibles, however, as they're attached to your account. Also, if you're wondering when you can start playing Halo Infinite's campaign on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC (day one via Xbox Game Pass), developer 343 Industries has also revealed launch timings via Twitter.

Halo Infinite's campaign launches on 8th December, but while you're waiting, you can read our review here. You can also enjoy the game's free-to-play multiplayer, which is excellent. Additionally, if you'd like to read all about our recent playthrough of every single Halo game and our thoughts, head here. On top of all that, there's a Halo Infinite campaign comparison video below, too. Phew.

  • The UK once again has to wait due to the Americans... What a suprise.
  • Don’t really get not having it be midnight in each region. There’s already tons of videos of the campaign from all the ‘influencers’ that got access weeks ago so it’s not like spoilers are an issue
  • @1 are you sure? GMT is 5 hours ahead of EST, while PST is about 3 hours behind EST. I know this because I live in Miami and have family friends in England.
  • @Richard, it’s been confirmed on TA that replaying missions is indeed going to be a thing, but at a later date (probably when co-op is introduced).

  • Everything is "coming at a later date". They delayed the game and they still couldn't finish it in time. I honestly would've preferred it be delayed again and not releases it such a pathetic state.
  • The joke just keeps getting bigger and better with this game.

..so pathetic what they did to this franchise
  • Good to see 343 adopting the buy now, play later model. What a joke gaming has become.
  • Maybe the fools should release it for Christmas 2022? JFC..
  • I've been hearing good things about the campaign, so I am pretty excited to play it. No matter what they would do as far as delaying it again or releasing it unfinished, they lose either way. Honestly, I'm just ready to play it, so I'm down to play it solo now and then revisit it again months from now and play it with my wife in coop.
