Welcome to the new year everyone! It's 2022, and there's a lot of exciting new games on the horizon, but we've got just one more thing to do before we put 2021 behind us - the final UK retail charts of last year.
Indeed, it seems that consumers were still pretty busy in the week following Christmas, likely buying additional games for the newly acquired consoles that Father Christmas left under the tree this year, and as such, it certainly isn't the most surprising selection of games we see at the top of the charts.
On Xbox Series X|S, Forza Horizon 5 holds strong at number one, followed by Far Cry 6 at number two. Call of Duty: Vanguard drops to fourth place, making way for Riders Republic, which rises five places into third. Meanwhile, Fortnite and Jurassic World Evolution 2 both re-enter the charts, at seven and nine, respectively.
Over on Xbox One, the ever-present FIFA, Call of Duty, and GTA V make up the top three spots in the charts, followed by Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Battlefield 2042. Marvel's Avengers and Watch Dogs Legion both rise up the charts, as does Cyberpunk 2077, while Mass Effect Legendary Edition comes back into the top twenty at number sixteen.
You can check out both charts in full down below, and we hope you have a very happy new year in 2022!
