Dying Light 2 Will Require "At Least 500 Hours" to Fully Complete

Dying Light 2: Stay Human will take at least 500 hours to 100% complete, developer Techland has revealed.

The Polish video game company made the announcement on Twitter, saying that “to fully complete Dying Light 2 Stay Human, you'll need at least 500 hours—almost as long as it would take to walk from Warsaw to Madrid!”

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the news was met with a mixed reception. While some fans were enthusiastic about the amount of content available in the game, many others were put off by the enormity of the task. In response, Techland reassured players that the 500 hours was only related to “100% completion rate” and that “most of the players who are in for story and side quests will be able to complete the game quicker”.

“500 hours is related to maxing out the game - finishing all the quests, endings, and exploring every part of the world, but a regular player should finish the story and side quests and do quite a lot of exploring in less than 100 hours, so don't worry!” Techland confirmed, telling one user that story and side quests should take “around 70-80 hours” if a player isn't in a rush.

What isn't clear yet, however, is how this relates to achievements. With plenty of achievement lists requiring players to max out most of a game's content, could Dying Light 2 end up being a 500 hour 1000G?

I guess we'll find out when Dying Light 2: Stay Human launches on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC on 4th February 2022. You can check out our preview of Dying Light 2 here.

  • Calling it now
Speedruns are gonna be sub 2 hours within a month
  • I enjoyed the first quite a bit but for some reason I've got almost no interest in this one and this news doesn't help any.
  • 499 hours of fetch quests..
  • @Dirty 130, You beat me to it... Except, I was going to say 498 hours of fetch quests, collect-a-thons, and bitch work.

For the people that want that, good on them, but for me, this sounds all sorts of terrible.
