ININ Games has announced that long-lost arcade platformer, Clockwork Aquario, will be coming to Xbox this summer, almost 30 years on from its cancellation. Released for PS4 and Nintendo Switch last month, Clockwork Aquario was the final game developed by Wonder Boy studio Westone, back in 1992.

Designed to push the SEGA System 18 arcade hardware to its limits, Clockwork Aquario unfortunately never made it to arcades, due to the rise in popularity of 3D games. As such, however, Clockwork Aquario holds the Guinness World Record for the longest time between the start of a video game project and its final release.

Featuring 2D pixel art, cute characters, dynamic gameplay, a 2-player mode, and “the kind of humour only arcade games can pull off”, Clockwork Aquario will be coming to Xbox and PC in summer 2022, priced $19.99 (or your regional equivalent) You can take a look at the game in the teaser trailer below.
