Bungie has released a new trailer for Destiny 2: The Witch Queen, offering an ‘in-depth’ look at Savathûn's Throne World, a new destination brimming with corruption alongside its more wondrous sights.

According to Bungie, the Throne World plays host to “a fragile balance of terrifying power”, where your Guardian will have to uncover the truth in a place where mysteries reside amid the Darkness and the Light. As you seek to face the eponymous Witch Queen, Savathûn in a new location, you'll take on the Lucent Brood, and forge your own weapons using a new weapon crafting feature.

These include the new Glaive weapon type, as well as other weapons you can add to your arsenal. There's more on forthcoming expansion in the story trailer here, ahead of Destiny 2: The Witch Queen's launch on 22nd February 2022. Meanwhile, the Season of the Lost will also be wrapping up soon, and you can still partake in the Bungie 30th Anniversary celebrations in Destiny 2, with a new dungeon, armour sets, and the return of the legendary Gjallarhorn Exotic Rocket Launcher.

  • I would really like to play this...but I just can't justify the way the game treats me. The cost of this expansion is almost as much as a new game and after a couple months, the game will be herding me towards buying another season pass. Then for all I know, this content could be gone in two years as they make room for the next expansion.
  • I'm with HDresden. I've been playing this game since beta of D1 but the pulling of content on a regular basis and the amount they're charging for each expansion now is beyond a joke. Looking at the price of the 30th Anniversary & Expansion bundle was nearly £100 and initially there was no way to buy them separately either (you can now, but even then the anniversary dlc is still £30 for basically a dungeon and the Gjallahorn) but I looked at that price and just said "Nah, now is my time to get out"

So I've finished up all I need from this season for peace of mind and will be uninstalling it more than like once the next expansion drops...
