Since launch, Halo Infinite's in-game store has offered a range of cosmetic items, constantly rotated in and out, available only with real money. To purchase cosmetics from the store, you need to buy bundles of Credits, and there's currently no way of earning these Credits through gameplay. That's set to change soon, for Season 2.
“Thanks to your continued feedback, we are happy to confirm Credits will be earnable in Season 2's Battle Pass," 343 Industries Head of Design Jerry Hook tweeted. ”That means you will be able to earn Credits as part of your Halo Infinite progression. We’ll have more to share on this as we get closer to Season 2."
Halo Infinite Season 2 is due to arrive in May 2022, when 343 is also hoping to finally add campaign co-op to the game, as well as Forge mode, in which you can build your own Halo maps. Halo Infinite is available for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows PC, and you can read our review here.
In the meantime, please read up on a few changes to the Shop and Challenges that will land next week: https://t.co/BoUaJipnha
Yeah it's crazy they did "BattlePass" so well in MCC. But his is what monetization of basic in-game unlockables feels like in Halo I guess. Wish they would go back to free unlockables and ask us to pay for that game.
Season 2 sounds like the fabled promise land, where everything will be made available, all issues will be addressed and hackers will be dealt with.. . I call bullshit...

While 343 has implemented various changes to progression in Halo Infinite multiplayer, and lowered the Credit prices of cosmetics via the in-game store, there being no way to earn Credits by playing has clearly left some players disgruntled. 343 has offered frequent Event Passes (the most recent of which is the Cyber Showdown event) with unique cosmetics to unlock, but keeping some items behind a paywall hasn't gone down all that well.
