Square Enix has released a couple of new trailers for Life is Strange Remastered Collection, offering up the first dose of gameplay from the two-game compendium, and a side-by-side comparison with the originals.

The new versions of Life is Strange and Life is Strange: Before the Storm launch next week, updating both games with revamped character models, improved motion capture, lighting rebuilt using Unreal Engine 4, support for 4K resolution, more expressive animation, and more natural hair physics, as well as “updated tears, injuries, and more”.

New lip sync, updated scenic materials “for reflectivity and texture”, and updated ‘key’ props flesh out the remasters, footage from which can be ogled in the new trailers below. Life is Strange Remastered Collection launches for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and Stadia on 1st February 2022.

  • Lol wow maybe there is like a 1% difference.

    Definitely doesn’t warrant another purchase.
  • @yourbutnstar lol that is not 1% difference
  • I see the difference; smoother lines, adjusted colors. But as Yourburntstar said, not enough to warrant another purchase.

    Oooo pretty graphics *rolls eyes*
  • I haven't played this game yet, even though it's appealed to me from the very beginning. I've been into this game before it originally released, I've been into the concept since like befroe Heavy Rain (The concept of decision based adventure games like choose your own adventure movies), and the whole lesbian angle is like 100% my sorta thing.

And damn, if I were max in CHloe's bedroom in this scne... I'd fall fucking in love with her too. CHloe is like 100% my type of bad ass heroine.
  • @Blakgravy, "Oooo pretty graphics *rolls eyes*" Preach it!

I've had more entertainment and enjoyment playing 8-bit, 16-bit, and 2D stylized games over a lot of the high-end graphic games. Yes, I get that having nice graphics is a perk, and nice to look at, but for me, it was never an end-all, be-all the way it is for so many gamers.
