It Looks Like Hogwarts Legacy Could Be Launching This September

An upcoming Hogwarts Legacy companion book could have given us a better idea of the game's release date, says The Rowling Library (via VGC).

Insight Editions is set to publish “The Art and Making of Hogwarts Legacy” as a companion piece to the upcoming Harry Potter RPG. The interesting detail, however, is that the book's publication date is set to be 6th September 2022. Given that it's highly unlikely that the art and making of book will release ahead of the actual game itself, this might give us some insight into when to expect Hogwarts Legacy to release.

As pointed out by VGC, September traditionally marks the beginning of a new school year in the world of Harry Potter, so would prove to be a good spot to release a game set within Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Hogwarts Legacy was rumoured to have hit some development troubles earlier this year, with a possible delay into 2023 reported. However, an official Wizarding World post has since listed the game for a 2022 release, which was further backed up by a post by WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar.

  • September would be a good release month since that month tends to be crappy for Triple A releases
  • Isn't September the month when school starts everywhere? Why would it be just in the wizarding world?
