Critically acclaimed story-driven adventure, Road 96, will be coming to Xbox and PlayStation this April, Ravenscourt and DigixArt have announced. A game in which you hit the eponymous route, as you look to escape an authoritarian regime on the brink of collapse, Road 96 lists Tarantino and Coen Brothers flicks among its influences.

"It’s really exciting to think that console players will soon be able to take their first steps on the emotional journey as they make a break for freedom," said Creative Director and CEO Yoan Fanise. "Road 96 with its inspiration from the classic road trip movies from the 90's, seemed a natural fit to this generation of both consoles and their owners. Sit back and prepare for a road trip like no other.”

Created by the team behind 11-11: Memories Retold and Valiant Hearts, Road 96 will take you on a “melancholy” and “contemplative” road trip, with human encounters, survival elements, and moments of action and exploration. You'll be able to flee the regime when Road 96 launches for Xbox and PlayStation in April 2022.

  • Really cool this is coming to the other systems, I played the demo on Switch and really liked it, but held off buying it cause it technical issues with the Switch seemed like it might rear it's ugly head. I'll definitely pick this up when it hits.
  • That trailer went places. Keen for this.
