Marvel's Avengers is Reworking the War Table, Among Other Changes

The Marvel's Avengers development team at Crystal Dynamics has given players an update on what to expect from the game in the near future, ahead of a full roadmap reveal later this year.

In the February Development Update, the team admits that a number of the systems that the game launched with haven't grown along with the player base, and that they aren't “delivering the most fun Super Hero team experience”. This was partly addressed in Patch 2.2 with the addition of Shipments, as well as a rework of the upgrade system and resource economy, but there's more on the way.

This includes a “much-needed” rework of the War Table and mission select system in the game. Changes to how players find, select, and launch missions should improve the flow of the game for new players, as well as reducing frustration in the levelling process, and create more concentrated matchmaking pools for higher-level players.

Other changes include further balancing of gear perks, including making gear sets earnable in a wider range of activities. Units will also be available as additional rewards in end-game activities in the future, and the developer will also continue to work on and prioritise “critical bugs”.

There's no word on when Patch 2.3 will be launching with many of these changes, but we can expect more details closer to release.
