A “blood-soaked, action-packed” first-person shooter, Scathe will be launching in 2022, three-person UK developer Damage State and UK publisher Kwalee have announced. Inspired by classic ultra-violent FPS games like DOOM and its ilk, Scathe has you playing as the titular protagonist, whose primary objective is to blast demons back to Hell.
Forged by the ‘Divine Creator’, you are the Enforcer of Hell's legions, placed into a hellish labyrinth teeming with grotesque creatures, where you must locate and collect the three Hellstones to reach the centre. You can choose your own path, while weaving your way through “bullet-hell” waves of projectiles, and using powerful weapons to blow your enemies away.
Scathe's weapons include the hellfire-spitting ‘Hot Hatch’ and buzzsaw-launching Bow Blade, while you can summon support from friends via drop-in/drop-out online co-op for up to four players, with full cross-play functionality. Scathe will be heading to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC in 2022.
