WB Games is set to hold a technical test next week for its upcoming free-to-play brawler MultiVersus, offering a ten-day period to sample the Smash Bros.-style fighting game and a selection of its eclectic characters cherry-picked from several Warner Bros. properties.

MultiVersus is due to release later this year with 2v2 multiplayer bouts, as well as 1v1 showdowns, cross-play support, and a 4-player Free-for-All mode. Characters revealed so far include Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn, Bugs Bunny, Tom & Jerry, Jake and Finn from Adventure Time, Steven Universe, Reindog, Garnet, Shaggy from Scooby-Doo, and erm, Arya Stark from Game of Thrones.

Each character will have their own individual ability, like Wonder Woman's lasso of truth, Superman's heat vision, or Arya's face-changing. MultiVersus will be coming to Xbox, PlayStation, and PC in 2022, while the upcoming tech test will take place from 25th February to 7th March - you can sign up to take part here.

  • That actually looks pretty good. Cross platform and progression for a free-to-play is always good. What I hate about most fighting games is that when they release new characters they're under a pay-wall.
  • Finally a fighting game with the one and only Lord Shaggy, our god and saviour
