Milestone and Dorna Sports S.L. have announced that MotoGP 22, the next entry in the long-running officially licensed motorcycle racing sim series, will be launching this April. The game will include the full 2022 season to play through, as well as a new '(NINE) Season 2009' mode in which you can relive the remarkable 2009 MotoGP season.

The new Season 2009 mode will include a ‘docu-film’ narrated by MotoGP documentary director Mark Neale, with more than 50 minutes of footage taken from the eventful 2009 MotoGP season. Dedicated challenges will enable you to play the season's most iconic moments, as legendary riders like Rossi, Pedrosa, Stoner, and Lorenzo.

A Revised Tutorial, meanwhile, will offer a place for newcomers to learn the basics of MotoGP, and somewhere for veterans to polish their skills and improve their style. The MotoGP Academy will also teach methods for improving players' riding via specific challenges, focusing on electronics, tyre wear, brake temperature and more.

MotoGP 22 will also feature an Adaptive Difficulty System, with pop-up messages appearing in-game to offer help and recommendations. Developer Milestone promises a greater level of realism, too, with new facial animations, improved character models, and pit areas, the ability to manually adjust ride height, and enhanced track surfaces.

An improved suspension system, tyre and brake temperatures, tyre deformation, and other features are also taken into account. As ever, the crux of MotoGP 22 will be the full, official 2022 season, with more than 120 riders, over 20 official circuits, and 70+ historic riders. The Managerial Career also returns, and local 2-player split-screen makes its debut alongside cross-play online multiplayer (between the same console family).

MotoGP 22 will be coming to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on 21st April. Check out the announcement trailer below.
