Bandai Namco and developer FromSoftware have rolled out the day one 1.02 patch for Elden Ring, ahead of the game's official launch tomorrow. Focused primarily on improving stability, it's recommended that you ensure the patch has been downloaded before starting the game.
Among the changes patch 1.02 brings to Elden Ring are improvements to player controls, adjusted BGM, tweaks to text and balancing, the fixing of frame rate drops “under certain conditions”, and text bugs in certain languages. Once the patch has been applied, you should see “App Ver. 1.02, Regulation Ver. 1.02.1” on the bottom right of the game's title screen.
Ray tracing support is also planned for implementation post-launch, although timing has yet to be determined and will be “revealed in future announcements”. You can check out the major additions introduced with the 1.02 patch in the changelog below, as per Bandai Namco's official site:
Elden Ring launches for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC on 25th February. Check out our review here.
