Developer Turtle Rock Studios has announced that Back 4 Blood's upcoming Tunnels of Terror DLC expansion will be launching next month, as the game passes 10 million players.
The Tunnels of Terror DLC will be adding two new playable Cleaners to the game - the axe-wielding firefighter Sharice, and tough restaurateur Heng. Alongside the new characters, however, come new Warped Ridden variants to deal with, including high-damage Rippers, monstrous Shredders, and landmine-setting Urchins.
Players will take on these new Ridden variants in the new co-op activity Ridden Hives. These will see players taking on seven different labyrinthian dungeons below Evansburgh, with exclusive loot and rewards to fine.
“To achieve such a milestone in the short time since the launch of Back 4 Blood is a historic event for our studio and this franchise,” said Turtle Rock Studios President and General Manager, Steve Goldstein. “As we look ahead, we’re excited to keep the momentum going with our upcoming expansion, Tunnels of Terror, which will offer more cooperative content for fans to continue cleansing the world of the Ridden.”
Tunnels of Terror will arrive in Back 4 Blood alongside the release of the free No Hope difficulty setting. Turtle Rock has also confirmed that all playable content in Tunnel of Terror will be available to all players in a party, as long as one player has purchased the expansion.
Back 4 Blood's Tunnels of Terror DLC is launching on 12th April 2022.
