Merge Games and developer Half Past Yellow have announced that Time on Frog Island, a sandbox puzzle adventure title formerly known as ‘Trading Time: A Croak Tale’, will be launching this summer. The name change comes due to it “better representing the gameplay experience”.
Playing as a sailor who's shipwrecked on a mysterious island following a violent storm, Time on Frog Island will have you looking for a way to fix your boat and sail home. But with the island's inhabitants looking like frogs and speaking their own froggy language, you'll need to find items to exchange for the boat parts you need.
As such, you'll need to get to know the froggy locals, traipsing across the island making trades, solving puzzles, unearthing hidden treasures, fishing and farming, concocting brews that change how you can travel, and learn new skills from your frog pals. Apparently, “each object you pick up could end up being the key to something bigger”.
Time on Frog Island will be coming to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC this summer, with digital and physical versions available for $29.99/£24.99/€29.99. Check out the announcement trailer below.
