Konami has announced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection, a collection of classic TMNT games coming to Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, and PC this year.

Including thirteen titles from across the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' 8-bit and 16-bit history, The Cowabunga Collection also offers up a load of new ways to play these classic titles. There will be local couch play available, with online play added to certain titles, as well as Save Anywhere and Rewind features. The collection will also have button mapping, HD texture updates, concept art, and some historic TMNT media content included.

“It was clear from the start The Cowabunga Collection needed the entire western release of 8-bit and 16-bit games, their Japanese versions, and of course the TMNT Arcade games. Together we’re bringing all 13 console and arcade games and their regional versions to [consoles] in 2022,” said Konami senior producer Charles Murakami.

The selection of titles available are below, with some of the games offering more than one version.

  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Arcade)
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time (Arcade)
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (NES)
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Arcade Game (NES)
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: The Manhattan Project (NES)
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters (NES)
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in Time (Super Nintendo)
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters (Super Nintendo)
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Hyperstone Heist (Sega Mega Drive)
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters (Sega Mega Drive)
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fall of The Foot Clan (Game Boy)
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: Back From The Sewers (Game Boy)
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: Radical Rescue (Game Boy)

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection arrives on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, and PC in 2022.

  • Really want to get this, probably will regardless but hoping there’s not too many achievements linked to the black and white and god awful earliest games.
  • Wow. Was hyped for Shredders Revenge but now.. Cowabunga indeed!
  • Hell yes!
  • Which version of Tournament Fighters?
  • Great year to be a Ninja Turtles fan
  • I’m pretty sure it doesn’t, but can anyone tell if the original NES TMNY game is in this? Have fond memories of that one..
  • @wounded82: It's in the trailer around the :49 sec mark. This is one title that will need a lot of the rewind feature for sure.
  • I played a lot of Tournament FIghters back in the day on SNES and of course the 4-player upright arcade game. If the pricing is reasonable, I'll probably pick it up for nostalgia's sake.
  • Wooohooo! Day one buy. Missed Turtles in Time on XBL - now I finally can replay it! And loved the first one on Game Boy too.

Two new TMNT games in 2022? Great news!!
  • Here's hoping for a physical release in case they decide to delist these classics a year later.
  • $40. My girls will live playing these with me. Good fun.
  • @SanguinDies Be glad you missed it, reshelled was a disservice to Turtles in Time [especially the snes version.]

Way too much missing content, and the 3D models were ugly.
  • @revczar, I know, right? I guess more is good.

This collection is pretty damn cool. I kept my 360 plugged in just because I still had some TMNT games installed on there to play with my son. But this means I can free up the space on the entertainment center, heh.
  • Physical copy, and price are confirmed on konamis office site for the game.
  • Does anyone know the stated resolutions for the collection and platforms? 1080p or 4k?
  • Glad to hear they are making physical copies available. This looks like a lot of fun!
