After WWE 2K20 released in 2019 to a bitterly disappointed audience, publisher 2K Games had to go away and have a serious rethink about the series it inherited from THQ back in 2013. Having been custodians of the licence since WWE 2K14, things were starting to grow stale, and WWE 2K20 proved to be the last straw.
More than two years later, 2K and developer Visual Concepts has returned with WWE 2K22, the first entry since the disastrous launch of WWE 2K20 - and, it goes without saying that there's a lot riding on this one. Has 2K and Visual Concepts finally managed to deliver with WWE 2K22, or does it deserve a piledriver right into the canvas?
