While EA has yet to reveal an official release window for its Dead Space remake, currently in the works at EA Motive, reports had pointed to a possible late 2022 launch, potentially in October. Now, it seems that the game could be targeting an early 2023 release, according to a new report.

According to VentureBeat, the studio is taking some additional time to ensure the game meets the expectations of fans, which, after Dead Space 3 sounded the death knell for the sci-fi survival horror series in 2013, are presumably rather high. After an almost ten-year hiatus, the Dead Space remake could finally jolt the series back to life.

No doubt we'll find out more during this evening's Dead Space live stream, due to take place at 18:00 GMT/19:00 CET/10:00 PT/13:00 ET, although, perhaps we won't, given that the stream is set to focus upon the game's audio. What we do know is that the Dead Space remake will feature skin peeling, overhauled zero-G, and content cut from the 2008 original.

  • That's fine. I'll wait.
  • @Dirty130
    Ditto lol
  • Take your time. Plenty of games in between now and then.
  • Honestly the fact it was even initially pegged for this year is shocking. I thought it would be late 2023, Q1 or Q2 2024. I'm perpetually like 30 games behind, so no rush at all. In regards to release dates now, the only thing I concern myself with is whether humanity will still be around, which I have no say in or if I'll be alive, which is motivation to stay alive.
  • Fully support this delay.

I want the game to be good on day 1, not 1 year later.
