Ubisoft has announced that Rainbow Six Siege Year 7 Season One ‘Demon Veil’ is now available, bringing a new Japanese Operator into the fold, alongside a Team Deathmatch mode, and, later in the season, a new map and further gameplay updates.

New Operator Azami is a Defender armed with the “game-changing” Kiba Barrier gadget, throwable canisters shaped like kunai that deploy a material which expands and solidifies into a bulletproof surface. Using the Kiba Barrrier, Azami can repair holes in walls and floors, or create a shield on the fly.

As well as Azami, Year 7 Season 1 also introduces Team Deathmatch as a permanent addition, and the perfect way to “warm up” prior to a standard R6 Siege match. The update also includes a Match Replay feature on consoles, balancing updates to Goyo and Valkyrie, a phone number requirement to play Ranked Matches, an exclusive skin for Nomad, new R6Fix Incentive Program, and Attacker Repick.

Later in the season, Ireland-set Emerald Plains will roll out as the first new Rainbow Six Siege map to be added to the game in three years. A new Year Pass or Premium Year Pass is also available to purchase until 21st March, unlocking all four seasonal Battle Passes and early access to new Operators as they launch. The Premium Year Pass also includes exclusive Exotic weapon skins, R6 Credits, and more, as well as 20 extra Tiers unlocked out of 100.

Demon Veil is available now for Rainbow Six Siege, with a free play period also available from 17th March to 24th March.
