Having announced that the Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 remakes, and Resident Evil 7 biohazard will all be coming to Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 later this year, Capcom has also confirmed that all three titles will release with the ability to transfer save data from the Xbox One or PlayStation 4 versions of each game.

The same goes for DLC included with the Gold Edition of Resident Evil 7, which includes Banned Footage Vol. 1 and 2, the Not A Hero DLC featuring Chris Redfield, and the epilogue End of Zoe content.

“We're happy to confirm that save data from the original PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of these games will carry over to their respective upgraded versions,” Capcom revealed via Twitter. “DLC that comes with Resident Evil 7 Gold Edition will transfer over, as well!”

Resident Evil 2, 3, and 7 will be coming to Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 later in 2022, with various visual enhancements, including ray tracing, an increased frame rate, and other improvements. What's more, a free upgrade will also be available to existing owners within the same platform family.

  • Be cool if there are some fresh lists and we get some auto-pops.

  • ^ what a dumbass. Reading is hard huh?
  • People seem to ha e missed the part where ita a free upgrsde if you own it on xbox one...
  • Nah, it's easier to just prematurely go on the attack rather than read the rest of the article. So edgy!

I can't see myself playing entirely through any of them again but would launch them for some auto-pops and maybe a quick run around at 60FPS. Can always go another Jill sandwich after all.
  • @Blue n Gold Eel - mate, it's a free upgrade for anyone who already owns these games. It's in the article.
  • @MattLorrigan give them a minute. They'll get there eventually.
  • @Venomous Albino unfortunately I don’t think they’ll ever get it through their heads, they seem painfully dense
  • I guess you missed the blind stupidity you left in your original comment..
  • I can't even...

If you don't own the Xbox One version, of course they're going to charge you for the Series X version. Do people who don't own Halo Infinite on Xbox One get given the Series X version for nothing? No, they pay for it (Game Pass notwithstanding) just like any other game.
