Ukrainian developer Sengi Games has announced that it still plans to release its upcoming game, The Serpent Rogue, next month, despite the war in Ukraine.

The Serpent Rogue is being published by Team17, and last month, it was announced to be launching on consoles and PC in late April. However, after the Russian invasion of Ukraine three weeks ago, the status of the game was understandably thrown into doubt, with the developer confirming it wouldn't be able to offer many answers or updates. However, Sengi Games has now said that the game will continue to launch on the planned date, 26th April 2022.

“Although the situation we're in is hard and unprecedented, we made a decision to stick to the original plan and launch our game, The Serpent Rogue on April the 26th as promised!” the developer announced on Twitter. “The game is coming on time and it is the most ambitious thing we've ever made, stay tuned!”

Russia's invasion of Ukraine has been brutal, prompting several video game companies, such as THQ Nordic parent company Embracer Group, to offer support to Ukraine. Additionally, companies such as EA, Take-Two, Microsoft, and Sony have all withdrawn or suspended services within Russia and its allied nations.

The Serpent Rogue is now still planned to launch on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC on 26th April 2022.

  • I agree, much respect for you all your people
  • I will be picking this game up to show my support, and I hopefully will go back and play through it once I've dealt with Elden Ring more.
