Ubisoft has announced that the previously announced Stranger Things crossover content for Far Cry 6 will be launching later this week, ahead of a free play weekend, offering full access to the game for a limited time, due to kick off from Thursday.

The new Far Cry 6 x Stranger Things free crossover mission is inspired by the Netflix series of the same name, offering a “stealth-horror-survival gameplay experience”, with mysterious characters and new lore to discover. It's the latest in a line of free crossover missions for Far Cry 6, following a Rambo crossover mission last month.

Titled ‘The Vanishing’, the free mission will see you entering a twisted ‘Upside-Down’ version of Far Cry 6's island nation of Yara, where Dani must search for Chorizo and several abducted Yarans who've mysteriously gone missing. During the mission, you'll visit Stranger Things-inspired locations, including a hidden bunker and abandoned lab.

New skins for the flamethrower and shotgun, as well as co-op support, will also feature. You'll be able to play The Vanishing in Far Cry 6 from 24th March, alongside the free weekend across Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC from 24th to 27th March, and discounts on the full game and its Season Pass.

  • It’ll be one or two missions, which will be glorified adverts for the paid DLC themed packs they’ll sell alongside it. After the Rambo crossover, my expectations couldn’t be lower.
  • @#1 : Well the rambo thingie was kinda fun. The rewarded bow isn't that bad.
I still won't purchase any pack anyway. So I'm good with them adding more themed stuff.
