Publisher Raw Fury and developer Bytten Studio have released a new trailer for Cassette Beasts, the Pokémon-inspired turn-based open world RPG adventure, featuring a ‘Fusion System’ which enables you to combine two monsters to create a new and uniquely powerful creature.
The new video offers a look at the game's setting of New Wirral, a remote island that's home to the eponymous monsters, and the brave heroes who use retro cassette tapes to transform creatures for battle, and to record monsters in order to acquire their abilities. In New Wirral's Harbourtown, monster attacks prompt the residents to fight back, using tapes to record monsters, then play them back to adopt their form in combat.
When you're not engaged in battle, Cassette Beasts has an open world to explore, using monster abilities to solve puzzles, locate and conquer dungeons, glide, fly, swim, climb, dash, or even turn magnetic. You'll also be able to form alliances and use elemental chemistry to gain buffs or debuffs during the game's turn-based showdowns.
Cassette Beasts will be coming to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC, available day one via Xbox Game Pass. A release date has yet to be confirmed.
