Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has been delayed until Spring 2023, developer Rocksteady has announced.

“We've made the difficult decision to delay Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League to Spring 2023,” said creative director Sefton Hill in a Tweet. “I know a delay is frustrating but that time is going into making the best game we can. I look forward to bringing the chaos to Metropolis together. Thanks for your patience.”

The possibility of a delay for the highly-anticipated game was first reported on by Bloomberg last month, and has now come to fruition. Suicide Squad is due to be Rocksteady's first big release since Batman: Arkham Knight in 2015, so it's perhaps unsurprising to see it delayed, considering the expectation that over seven years of development will have brought.

The delay also clears room for WB Games' two other big projects releasing in 2022. Gotham Knights, another DC game, is due to release in October, while Hogwarts Legacy is launching at the end of the year.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is now due to launch in Spring 2023. You can check out some extended gameplay of the game here.

  • Suicide squad is gay anyway. The movies sucked and the game will too. And why the hell is it taking about a decade to release a new game? All the good will from the Batman series is gone.
  • Aww dang it! I was looking forward to it this year.
  • It's 2022 and people still use "gay" to describe something that you think is bad/dumb? Yikes.

Bummer that it got delayed. I really enjoyed the James Gunn version of the team (and the Peacemaker show on HBO was amazing), but this does seem like it'll be more in line with the other versions, so I'm still a bit hesitant on it. Rocksteady hasn't disappointed yet though.
  • Everything always getting delayed at least it was a game I had no intention of getting this time
  • I don't buy games as much as works of art from creators that have impressed me in the past. Artists like Sefton Hill. I was beyond impressed with the Arkham games and I still play Arkham City once a year. Suicide Squad feels like a bit of a departure so the longer they have to make it feel fun the better.
  • @The Pants Party I’m sorry Karen let me rephrase. It’s really fucking Gay and Retarded. Now you can go back to enjoying that pedophile Gunn you hypocrite.
  • And you can have a ban..
  • Moving forward, if everyone could please get their point across without using inappropriate language or insults, that would be preferred. Thank you.
  • Suicide squad sucks anyways, I don't see a lot of people lining up to play as useless characters.
