A44 Games, the developer behind 2018's Ashen, has released a new behind-the-scenes video for their upcoming action-RPG, Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn.

In this new video, the New Zealand-based developer talks about the game's characters and setting, with some nice concept art to set the scene. Players take on the role of Nor Vanek, who is out to kill the god who killed her father. She's joined by the magical fox-like creature Enki, and the two of them “essentially carve a trail through this world and find a way to kill these gods”.

We also get just the briefest first glimpses of gameplay for Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn dotted through the video here. While the reveal trailer was entirely an in-engine cutscene, here we see the camera panning around Nor Vanek in a military camp, as well as our two heroes pulling a boat onto shore. It's not a lot, but we're excited to see more.

Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn is launching on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One via Xbox Game Pass, as well as PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC in 2022.
