SpellForce III Reforced is coming to Xbox later this year, but real-time strategy games don't always translate too well to console controls. Luckily, THQ Nordic has released a new controller guide video, showing off how the game will work with an Xbox controller.
The camera is controlled with the left stick, with zoom and rotation tied to the right stick. Selecting a unit is as simple as tapping the A button on them, and you can hold the A button in order to select multiple units within an expanding radius. There's plenty of shortcuts added too - clicking the right stick will instantly select your hero party, and a double click will centre the camera on them. Pretty much all actions are selected using radial menus, perfect for an analogue stick, and opened using the triggers.
It seems to be pulling on features from those few RTS titles that have worked decently well on consoles in the past, such as Halo Wars and Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3. You can check out the full video, with all of the control details, down below.
SpellForce III Reforced is launching on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on 7th June 2022.
