Developer Supermassive Games has confirmed that Irish actress Jessie Buckley will star in the upcoming Dark Pictures Anthology season finale, The Devil in Me.
The announcement comes following the Academy Awards last night, in which Buckley was nominated as Best Supporting Actress for her role as a young Leda Caruso in the 2021 film, The Lost Daughter. In The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me, Buckley will be starring as the character Kate Wilder.
Fans had speculated that Jessie Buckley was this game's big name star, given a short glimpse of the character in the game's announcement trailer, so it's good to finally have confirmation. Each of the Dark Pictures games has had a famous lead, with Shawn Ashmore in Man of Medan, Will Poulter in Little Hope, and Ashley Tisdale in House of Ashes.
The Devil in Me isn't the only star-led horror game that Supermassive Games is releasing this year, however. The British developer also recently announced The Quarry, a star-studded cinematic horror title that looks like a spiritual successor to the studio's first breakout hit, Until Dawn.
The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me is due to launch later in 2022.
Gotta say, we're loving the hype in the replies 🙌🔥
