Koch Media and developer Milestone have revealed the first details on MotoGP 22's new ‘NINE Season 2009’ mode, an “original docu-styled gameplay experience” that will take you through a “whirlwind of memories”.
Enabling you to relive “one of the best seasons ever in MotoGP history”, the NINE Season 2009 mode will put you into the racing boots of riders like Rossi, Pedrosa, Lorenzo, Stoner, and numerous others, blending gameplay with real footage. Said footage is created for the game by Mark Neale, whose work includes documentaries like ‘Faster' (2003), 'Faster & Faster’ (2004), and 'Fastest' (2011) narrated by Ewan McGregor, as well as ‘Hitting The Apex’ (2015), co-produced by Brad Pitt.
All seventeen of the 2009 Season's Grand Prix events will be available to play through, across an array of chapters and 39 challenges reproducing key moments from the season, with all of the riders, bikes, and tracks, spliced into more than an hour of documentary footage. Completing challenges will unlock new content like helmets and special liveries. You can find out more about MotoGP 22 and its NINE Season 2009 mode in the latest trailers below.
MotoGP 22 is racing to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on 21st April.
