Season Three of Netflix's The Witcher is officially in production, the streaming service has confirmed, unveiling the first on-set image and a plot summary for the upcoming next batch of episodes. Of course, Henry Cavill will return as Geralt, alongside Freya Allan as Ciri and Anya Chalotra as Yennefer.

“As monarchs, mages, and beasts of the Continent compete to capture her, Geralt takes Ciri of Cintra into hiding, determined to protect his newly-reunited family against those who threaten to destroy it," the plot synopsis reads. “Entrusted with Ciri’s magical training, Yennefer leads them to the protected fortress of Aretuza, where she hopes to discover more about the girl's untapped powers; instead, they discover they’ve landed in a battlefield of political corruption, dark magic, and treachery. They must fight back, put everything on the line – or risk losing each other forever.”

Presumably, The Witcher Season 3 will be arriving sometime later this year or early next year, following 2021's Season 2, which hit Netflix in December. Meanwhile, The Witcher prequel series ‘Blood Origin’ is also in the pipeline, and the Xbox Series X|S version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is also seemingly closing in.

Developer CD Projekt RED also recently revealed that it's working on a new The Witcher saga, using Unreal Engine 5, with a teaser image of a ‘School of the Lynx’ medallion half-sunken in the snow. In short, there's no shortage of The Witcher stuff on the horizon to look forward to.
