Having released the original Subnautica in 2018 and its sequel, Subnautica: Below Zero, last year, developer Unknown Worlds has confirmed that it's hiring for a third entry in the series.
“We're seeking a Senior Narrative Designer to work with us to help shape the next game in the Subnautica universe!,” reads a recent tweet from the studio, spotted by GamesRadar. The job listing seeks an applicant adept at telling “compelling, dramatic stories in the context of the game experience,” and able to help “establish the narrative direction for a beloved franchise."
Familiarity with working on open world games is also preferred, as well as a passion for sci-fi. Expect the next game to follow similar territory to the first two, then, Subnautica and its sequel seeing you gathering resources, hunting, crafting, and foraging on an ocean planet. Subnautica and Subnautica: Below Zero are available for Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, and PC, so presumably, the third game will follow suit.

Definitely keen for more subnautica i hope we can get some sort of drop in drop out coop for the next game, also hope we get larger areas like the first game so we can explore the terrifying depths with the cyclops once more. as much as i liked the sequel i do wish it wasn't smaller map wise, still fun though and it made me excited for whats coming next.. question is.. is what is planned next? time will tell i suppose :D
