Texas based developer Certain Affinity has announced it will be “deepening” its relationship with Halo Infinite developer 343 Industries to help evolve the game further.

Certain Affinity has long worked as a support studio on several Halo titles, as well as other first-person shooters such as Call of Duty: Ghosts and DOOM. Now, the studio is working closer with 343, and has apparently been “entrusted with further evolving Halo Infinite in some new and exciting ways”.

This news links up with a report from Windows Central earlier this year, which suggested that Certain Affinity was working on a brand new multiplayer mode for Halo Infinite. The mode is apparently set to be less competitively demanding than Arena or Big Team Battle. It's been speculated that this could be a new PvE mode, or perhaps a take on the battle royale genre. It's also be reported that it could tie in with Halo Infinite's upcoming Forge mode

Certain Affinity certainly appears to be busy working on Xbox projects right now, with rumours suggesting that the studio is also creating a Monster Hunter-like game that will be exclusive to Xbox consoles.
