For the first time in over two years, we have a new Overwatch Origin Story to watch, this time introducing Overwatch 2's first new hero, Sojourn.

Real name Vivian Chase, Sojourn is a fierce former captain of Overwatch, who comes equipped with plenty of cybernetic enhancements. Once a member of the Canadian special forces, her unit teamed up with Overwatch during the Omnic Crisis, and she formed a strong bond with Jack Morrison, aka Soldier 76. After the war, Morrison reached out to Chase to recruit her.

It appears that Sojourn left Overwatch behind, although she'll soon be back in the field, with Blizzard confirming that she'll be added to the Overwatch 2 PvP Beta in the near future. You can check out the video for yourself down below.

Overwatch 2 is due to launch in 2023 at the earliest, following the announcement of a delay last year.

  • Is that a confirmation on a 2023 window? Seems highly unlikely they'd wait 9 months to release the game if they're putting out a beta in less than a couple weeks.

Unless there's official word on that window, please, PLEASE do not state numbers. Keep your journalistic integrity
  • @Dante XBA - hey mate, so if you follow that link at the bottom of the article to the announcement of a delay to the game, you'll see that in a 2021 earnings call, Activision Blizzard said that it had originally planned to release Overwatch 2 and Diablo 4 in 2022, but that those releases had both been pushed back and would no longer be releasing within that year.
  • @MattLorrigan I appreciate the followup, but nowhere in that article does it state that the games were pushed back to 2023
  • Yeah, for all we know they could've been delayed from early this year, to later this year.
