Developer CD Projekt RED has revealed that the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 major campaign expansion will feature a new storyline. The content is currently in the pipeline alongside other DLCs, as Cyberpunk 2077 celebrates a sales milestone of more than 18 million copies.

“For everyone who has already walked the streets of Night City – we’re working on further DLCs as well as on a major expansion featuring a new storyline,” CD Projekt VP and CFO Piotr Nielubowicz remarked, adding. “We believe in the long-term potential of our newest release; thus, one of our priorities for 2021 was to improve Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay.”

Nielubowicz went on to comment that the studio is “now satisfied with the game” and “encouraged” by the reception of the next-gen console update, which released on 15th February. “Altogether, we’ve now sold over 18 million copies of Cyberpunk 2077,” he confirmed.

A roadmap of what CD Projekt RED has in production was also shared via Twitter today, with a major expansion and further gameplay updates for Cyberpunk 2077 scheduled for 2022, alongside work on the delayed next-gen version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and development on the new Witcher Saga using Unreal Engine 5.
