Developer Gameloft Montreal has announced Disney Dreamlight Valley, another free-to-play Disney offering, alongside upcoming kart racer, Disney Speedstorm. Dreamlight Valley is a life-sim adventure due to roll out in early access this summer, before the full game launches in 2023.
Set within the eponymous, idyllic Disney world, Dreamlight Valley offers players the chance to live a “magical life” with iconic Disney and Pixar characters, while embarking upon a quest to restore the village to its former glory. Removing the night thorns that have rendered Dreamlight Valley desolate will open new pathways and areas to explore, and help the residents recover their lost memories.
Each character has their own story arcs and friendship goals to discover via exploration, gift giving, and other activities that enable you to get to know them better. You might rustle up desserts with Remy from Ratatouille one minute, while catching fish with Goofy, or harvesting vegetables with Wall-E. The game will also be regularly updated with new content inspired by new Disney and Pixar films and events.
Hundreds of clothing pieces, interior decor items, and more can be unlocked as you progress, as you design and outfit your village with a range of personalised touches and customisation options. For a chance to take part in the early access period for Disney Dreamlight Valley, you need only have an active Xbox Game Pass membership.
Alternatively, purchasing the Founders Pack via the Xbox Store will guarantee early access. Disney Dreamlight Valley will be heading to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC in 2023. Check out the announcement trailer below.
