Set upon a remote, idyllic island, The Chant is an upcoming psychedelic third-person horror game due to launch later this year. Developed by Brass Token and published by Prime Matter, the game aims to explore “the dark side of spirituality”, within the framework of ‘normality’.

The Chant's island location is a spiritual retreat, where you'll find yourself striving to survive when you're faced with an array of “ethereal terrors” that have been let loose by a ritual chant gone horribly wrong. The chant of the title has opened a portal to a nightmare dimension known as ‘The Gloom’, which feeds off negative energy.

As such, The Gloom will drive you and your fellow island inhabitants mad by preying upon anxiety and fear, manifested as terrifying interdimensional creatures. However, there's hope at the heart of The Chant, as unravelling the mysteries behind a ‘70s new age cult and strengthening mind, body, and spirit can reverse The Gloom’s effects.

You'll need to avoid being trapped in The Gloom forever, when The Chant launches for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC later in 2022.
