Dying Light Developer Techland is Staffing Up for its Upcoming Open World Fantasy RPG

Techland, the Polish developer behind Dying Light 2 Stay Human, has announced a big hiring push to help support its unannounced AAA Open World Action-RPG.

The open world fantasy RPG was first revealed to be in development back in 2016, alongside Dying Light 2. Now, with the zombie parkour sequel out the door, it seems Techland wants to focus its attention on this new IP, with plenty of new open positions available at the company to be found here.

“We're very happy with what we have accomplished with the Dying Light franchise so far. Moreover, our journey with Dying Light 2 Stay Human has only just begun as we plan to support this game for at least 5 years, with its scope and size matching, if not exceeding, what we have provided our community with during post-launch support for its predecessor,” said Techland CEO Paweł Marchewka.

“At the same time, our ambition is to introduce a brand new IP that is vastly different from what we have been doing for the past several years. We want to create a fully next-gen experience. A new fantasy epic set in a sprawling open world, fuelled by the skills and experience we have gained as a team over the years, infused with new ideas, passion, and creativity.”

Techland has already brought in The Witcher 3 veterans Karolina Stachyra and Arkadiusz Borowik to work on the game's narrative, as well as other developers from CD Projekt, Ubisoft, Warner Bros, Arkane Studios, Guerilla Games, and People Can Fly.

Techland is unable to share more details about the game right now, according to Marchewka, but they are “looking forward to showing it to gamers when the time is right”.
