New Zealand-based developer PikPok has announced Shatter Remastered Deluxe, bringing the PS3 brick breaker to Xbox later this year.

Offering up richly detailed sci-fi stages, mind-bending physics, frantic boss battles, and an award-winning soundtrack, Shatter garnered a huge amount of critical acclaim when it first launched back in the late noughties. Now, this upgraded version of the game is coming to modern consoles, complete with 4K and 120FPS support, improved VFX, and new 5.1 surround sound support.

“When we launched the original Shatter in 2009, we were blown away by the critical acclaim and success, and the industry recognition and awards were confirmation we had succeeded in our goal of reinventing the brick-breaking genre,” said PikPok CEO Mario Wynands. “As a recognized 'modern retro' classic, we are excited to now bring Shatter Remastered Deluxe to a contemporary audience taking advantage of all the capabilities of the consoles of today, including stunning 4k resolution, enhanced FX, and a 5.1 surround sound remastered soundtrack.”

Shatter Remastered Deluxe is coming to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC in late 2022. You can check out the first trailer down below.

  • Think I played this through PS+ back on the PS3, don't think I've played a brick breaker game on Xbox so will definitely look out for this.
