Activision and developer Infinity Ward have officially announced that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II will be launching in October, having revealed the game's spiffy logo last month. Like the first entry in the rebooted Modern Warfare from 2019, Captain Price, Ghost, Soap, and the gang will be back.

Dubbed ‘Task Force 141’, Modern Warfare II's global squad will be headed up by Captain John Price, with Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley, John ‘Soap’ MacTavish, Kyle ‘Gaz’ Garrick, and new character, Mexican Special Forces Colonel Alejandro Vargas, making up the rest of the game's crack military team.

No gameplay has been unveiled as yet, and the debut trailer has only the release date to offer, and a bunch of official artwork, revealing the look of each character. You can take a look at that below. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II is due to launch for Xbox, PlayStation, and PC on 28th October 2022.

  • Super hyped for this! The wait was too long.
  • I don't get how anybody can be hyped on this. The way COD has been since the MW reboot. It doesn't even feel like a full game. Like the franchise is cracking under the weight of adhering to its annual release schedule. When the games boot, you are greeted with a menu that leads you to menus for the last three years of COD content which makes it all feel watered down at best and a complete exercise in redundancy at worst.
  • @2 - Some people, like me, are just excited to play the campaign and generally ignore everything else. Can’t let all that bullshit drag you down.
  • i'm still waiting for MW 2019 to go on Sale for $25 Max. The days of buying games full price are long over in my opinion, unless we talking about Goldeneye, Darkstalkers or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, they are worth the full Retail price, in my opinion, Retro Gamer Eternal !!!!
  • I don’t spend nearly enough time browsing menu to care BR07 and MW has always been best part of while CoD franchise. Plus previous MW was the best MP since, so yeah there is something to be excited about. If you like FPS modern day shooters that is.
  • You could play the original, that you probably own, and save a few bucks……..or get suckered into nostalgia…… for a few bucks (guilty once or more times)
  • @bulock Except MW 2019 had a completely different story then the original, and there have been rumors for months that MW2022 will be about the cartel. So no, it's isnt being "suckered by nostalgia".
  • Probably wont be picking this up until its at least 50% off. Call of Duty has been complete ass since 2012.
  • You clearly didn't play the 2019 reboot if you honestly think "CoD hAs BeEn CoMpLeTe AsS sInCe 2012" the campaign was the best they have done with the exception of BO1.

Why bother buying it at all if you think it's "shit"
  • The campaign and Coop was the only reason I bought these, so unless it goes for £30 quid or less on release, im not buying it.

Not the kind of game you want remade, though Activision or whomever is making these disagree for profit.
