2.5D Sci-Fi Platformer REPLACED Has Been Delayed to 2023

Dystopian sci-fi platformer REPLACED has been delayed to 2023, due to the ongoing war in Ukraine.

First revealed during Xbox's E3 2021 showcase, REPLACED is being developed by Sad Cat Studios, a Belarusian studio with teams in both Belarus and Ukraine. Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, development on the game has been heavily impacted, leading to the delay.

“The priority for Sad Cat was for the safety of the team and their families. As a result, part of the team has now relocated and work has only recently restarted on REPLACED,” reads the official announcement.

“We are continuing to work hard to match the quality you've come to expect from the trailer, but are prioritising both the physical and mental health of the developers by not forcing the original deadlines that have been unexpectedly impacted”

Good for them. We hope the development team are able to stay safe and well in these troubling times. If you need a refresher on what exactly REPLACED is, you can rewatch the stunning reveal trailer down below.

REPLACED will now be launching on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Xbox Game Pass in 2023.

  • I couldn't remember what this was by name, but it's that sick-looking dystopian platformer not made by a flagrant misogynist and gamergater.

Cool with a delay if it delivers on half the promise that announce trailer had.
