Mojang has announced that Minecraft's The Wild Update is launching in June across all platforms.

The Wild Update, which was first revealed last year, will add two new biomes to the game - the Deep Dark and the Mangrove Swamp. The former exists below the base of caves, offering a deathly silence, and horrific shrieker enemies that can trigger a horde of underground creatures if you don't stop them from, well, shrieking. However, you will also find Sculk Blocks here, so maybe its worth the trip.

The Mangrove Swamp, meanwhile, is a bit more above board, with big rooted trees, a new Mud Block to harvest, and a boat (with a chest) to set sail in.

The update also introduces new mobs, such as the Warden, the Allay, and the Frog. The Frog is even introduces alongside new tadpole mobs, for the full froggy lifecycle.

Minecraft: The Wild Update is coming to Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, mobile, and PC on 7th June 2022.
