Prison Architect will soon be receiving its seventh expansion, with ‘Gangs’ set to bring “another level of chaos” to the prison management sim, thanks to the introduction of gang warfare within the walls of your correctional facility.
With gang warfare breaking out, you'll need to bring order to your prison, reforming gang members, while protecting other inmates and staff, and enforcing a strict code of conduct. Gangs will form and grow within your prison, and you'll need to keep tabs on the ‘temperature’ of the facility. The hotter the temperature, the more dangerous the gang - just be sure to avoid ‘Boiling Point’.
Through Gang Rehabilitation, you'll be able to slow the spread of activity, using special rooms like the Tattoo Removal Centre or regulated Fight Club Room to help inmates get rid of their aggression. However, you'll have crooked guards who'll help gang leaders to smuggle in contraband, and other challenges to contend with.
“Gangs introduces a whole slew of creative challenges for Wardens to overcome. While it sounds intimidating, the Gangs expansion keeps things fun and light-hearted for our players,” says Game Director Gaz Wright. “We designed the reformation features to feel authentic while giving wardens clever options to handle gangs and increase their population's happiness.”
Prison Architect: Gangs will be coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC “soon”, priced $5.99/£4.79/€5.99, alongside the free ‘Kite’ update, which brings a range of improvements to the game. These include more wardens, guard dogs, room sizes, prison capacity options, and improvements to Prison Architect's menus and mechanics.
