Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake has been delayed yet again, Ubisoft has announced.

The much-delayed remake began to be delisted by multiple retailers over the past week, leading to rumours that the game had been cancelled entirely. However, a Ubisoft representative confirmed to PC Gamer that Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake has simply been delayed again, and will no longer be releasing before 31st March 2022.

“We’re proud of the work achieved by Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai, and Ubisoft Montreal will benefit from their learnings as the new team will continue the work to deliver a great remake. As a consequence, we are no longer targeting a FY23 release anymore and the game has been delisted,” said the Ubisoft statement.

“If players wish to cancel their preorder they are invited to contact their retailer. They will be updated on the project as the development is moving along.”

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake has been in trouble ever since it was first revealed in 2020. Despite being due to release in January 2021, the game was delayed until March, before being delayed indefinitely just a couple of months later. Ubisoft later revealed the game was aiming for a 2022 release, and then earlier this year, it was revealed that the game's development would be moving to Ubisoft Montreal.

Things don't seem good for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake, then, but the game hasn't yet been officially cancelled, at the very least.
