Activision and developer Infinity Ward have dropped the reveal trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, showcasing Task Force 141, who return after the events of 2019's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare reboot, for another global campaign. Advanced enemy AI, a physically based material system, and other visual innovations aim to make MWII's Campaign one of the biggest and most cinematic yet.
In Modern Warfare II, Task Force 141, comprising Captain John Price; Sergeant Kyle ‘Gaz’ Garrick; lone wolf Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley; Sergeant John ‘Soap’ MacTavish; and new team member, Mexican Special Forces Tier 1 Operator, Colonel Alejandro Vargas, will apparently face their “greatest threat yet”, taking them to locations across Europe, Asia, and The Americas.
The new Campaign promises "offshore sieges with underwater combat, explosive assaults from 30,000 feet above enemy strongholds, and high-stakes, low-profile stealth missions in both plain sight and under the cover of darkness". An evolved version of 2-player co-op mode Special Ops will also feature in MWII, offering a place to hone your skills for Multiplayer.
Multiplayer promises “new ways to play and numerous gameplay innovations”, alongside a revamped Gunsmith feature with “customisation than ever before”. A calendar of post-release free content drops, including maps, modes, and special events, will also roll out for Multiplayer, offering new stuff to discover. New ‘Ricochet Anti-Cheat’ tech will also feature day one in both Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2.0.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be launching for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC on 28th October 2022, with Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 coming “later this year”. Pre-ordering will also offer early access to the Open Beta, as well as numerous base weapons, maps, modes, Operators, and more. Check out the MWII reveal trailer below.
