Developer Striking Distance Studios has offered a first proper look at gameplay from The Callisto Protocol, following last week's gameplay reveal. As well as an extended, much gorier ‘Schofield Cut’ of that trailer, the developer showcased actual in-game footage, which, it must be said, looks very close to its Dead Space roots.

Striking Distance CEO Glen Schofield was on hand at the Summer Game Fest to introduce the new trailers, the first of which includes 30 additional seconds of bloody brutality, including a horribly vicious death sequence for the game's protagonist, Jacob Lee, played by Josh Duhamel.

You can check out both trailers below, then look forward to dismembering alien nasties in The Callisto Protocol when it launches for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC on 2nd December 2022.

  • Holy shit this game is going hard. Can't wait to play this.
  • Yes HDresden. Game looks solid and compelling. Gameplay very similar to Dead Space though. But it is set on Jupiter's moon Callisto right?, so Dead Space vibes are required no doubt. Anyway, the game seems to have its own personal aura and charm. Day one for sure.
  • CANTINFLAS, it looks like Dead Space cause it’s from the original creators of Dead Space. It was done on purpose. I’d say it’s a spiritual successor.
  • At least I think. Maybe I’m way off.

(Still no edit button ugh lol)
  • This looks excellent. The next-gen Deadspace we need.
  • @Swamp Dino, I didn't know this game is being made probably by the original creators of Dead Space. But it makes a lot of sense for the very similar way it looks. Anyhow, I bet the game will be great. I hear you, no edit button in this site is a pain.
